TICP x CANPACK

Industrial forms are designed to perform. Rarely are they designed to be remembered. When CANPACK INDIA sought souvenirs for their global partners, the objective was not to create branded merchandise, but to craft meaningful objects that reflect both their manufacturing excellence and the cultural landscape they operate within.
Located in the vicinity of the Ajanta - Ellora caves, CANPACK INDIA’s manufacturing ecosystem exists alongside one of India’s most enduring legacies of craftsmanship and sculpture. This geographical connection became the starting point of the project.

The Brief
CANPACK INDIA required souvenirs for their international counterparts, objects that represent both global manufacturing strength and local cultural identity. Not merchandise. Not branding-heavy memorabilia. Something worth preserving.
The Concept
We transformed the can and bottle into sculptural artifacts inspired by Ajanta-Ellora, near their factory location. The cylindrical form became a carved surface. Wood and stone replaced print and label. Each piece is co-created with generational artisans, designed to be preserved, discussed, and carried forward across borders. A souvenir that speaks of place, craft & precision.

The resulting product bridges industry and culture, transforming everyday packaging forms into enduring symbols of memory and identity. Designed to travel across borders yet remain deeply rooted in their place of origin, these handcrafted souvenirs celebrate the meeting point of innovation, craftsmanship, and cultural pride.
TICP x SATHI INITIATIVE’s

At The India Craft Project, we believe that a truly meaningful launch begins with an intentional story. For the SATHI Initiative, gifting was envisioned not as a standard hamper, but as a deeply layered material narrative - a tactile journey through the heart of Indian craftsmanship. "We paired distinct heritage crafts that rarely meet-blending completely different materials, regions, and techniques into one harmonious design."
- Intricate Zardozi hand embroidery
- Charma Karya leatherwork from Kutch
- Kala Cotton textiles and hand worked detailing
- Vibrant Meenakari bowls and cast brass diyas
- Artisanal Bookmarks and folk art-inspired stationery
Every single element was meticulously selected to ensure a cohesive balance of texture, finish, and an authentically indi-global aesthetic.
The structure of the unboxing experience was intentionally paced to build a physical and sensory connection with the crafts:
- The Introduction: Opening first with the crisp, artistic familiarity of folk art paper and writing tools.
- The Core: Moving into the rich, tactile world of our embossed, dyed, and woven ARTH leather folios and embroidered surfaces.
- The Keepsake: Ending with functional, handcrafted objects designed to remain as timeless fixtures in everyday life long after the event.
From the structural internal compartments to the dedicated bookmark sleeves, every detail was developed to make the packaging feel archival rather than disposable.
Built for thoughtful beginnings. A launch entirely about people and processes, where every box carried fragments of Indian craft - stitched, painted, embossed, cast, and assembled by hand. Through this collaboration, we celebrate the incredible hands behind the heritage, bringing detail, tactility, and soulful storytelling into a single, unforgettable box.
