TICP x Zardozi
Every Zardozi creation at The India Craft Project begins long before the first stitch is made. Each motif is thoughtfully conceptualised and designed in-house, drawing inspiration from India's rich craft heritage before being brought to life by the skilled hands of master artisans.
Once the design is finalised, it is carefully transferred onto fabric stretched over a traditional adda embroidery frame. Using the aari (hooked needle), artisans meticulously embroider each motif with dabka (coiled metallic thread), zardozi taar, semi-precious stones, and other embellishments. Every stitch is placed by hand, requiring remarkable patience, precision, and years of inherited skill.
The result is more than embroidery - it is a collaboration between contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship. By creating every motif from scratch and handcrafting each embroidered detail, TICP ensures that every piece carries its own distinct identity while honouring the centuries-old legacy of Zardozi.
