This hand-painted Tholu bommalata lampshade by Sudhakar Ji is one of its kind. You see the bright hand-painted artwork during the day and the light reflecting outwards through the tiny holes in the tholu lamps to add the calm and pleasant vibe during the evening/nights. They are beautiful both indoors and outdoors!
Originated in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Leather Puppetry is believed to have been exercised since the 12th century. In olden times, colorful leather puppets were created to perform shadow puppet shows and mostly consist of characters from Ramayana and Mahabharatha. Because of the translucent nature of the material, lighted puppets would glow in the dark emitting vivid colors, attracting more and more audiences to the show.
These are handprinted when you place an order, It takes us 7-8 days to mount them tightly, hand paint them, dry them (depending on the weather) to ship it to you. Since these are hand made, the colours may slightly vary from the pictures.
