Inspired by the Mughal architecture of Old Delhi, the vivid 'Jhoomar' (chandelier) pattern is studded with tiger stones or garnet (as available), reflecting light with the beautiful gold of Zardozi craftsmanship.
Derived from 'Zar' meaning gold and 'Dozi' meaning embroidery, Zardozi once involved intricate designs with real gold leaves and silver threads. Today, a blend of copper wire, golden or silver polish, silk threads, and semi-precious stones preserves this royal tradition.
