'Hariyali' Cheriyal Painting
Hand-painted with Cheriyal art by Rakesh Ji, these colourful paintings add beautiful accents to a space, both indoors and outdoors. Cheriyal is a small town in Telangana, the place of origin for Cheriyal paintings and they often depict the 'everyday'. The earliest sight of these Paintings is found in the form of long scrolls of 40-45 feet to tell from mythical narratives to villagers’ day-to-day lives, these paintings depict it all and were used by traditional folk singers as a visual tool while narrating a story. Besides the scrolls, Cheriyal artists would also make masks and dolls.
With time, the Cheriyal Artists felt the need to shorten the scrolls that depict any single episode or few characters from the traditional story. Since these are handmade, the colours may differ slightly from their digital image. Since our products are handmade, it may take us 7-8 days to paint your order and ship it to you.
